We’re looking for a sharp, strategic Business Affairs Associate to join Team Snapchat and hit the ground running! You’re a solutions-oriented, creative-first Business Affairs expert who can collaborate across the Creative & Marketing dept and xfn teams, including creative, production, legal, and finance to ensure efficient and legally cleared final delivery of Creative & Marketing’s key work streams and initiatives. You are operationally minded and ready to roll up your sleeves to help build our scaling Business Affairs infrastructure and support capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise on all Business Affairs matters across creative development, production, post-production, and distribution for priority Creative & Marketing endeavors from a strategic risk mitigation perspective.

  • Partner with xfn stakeholders including: Legal, Finance, Sourcing, Partnerships, Music and Privacy.

  • Assist with providing support for and/or directly handling the evaluation, structuring, negotiating and implementing of a wide range of agreements; will work closely with C&M team members throughout all stages of a deal, including to compile and help prioritize the deal points.

  • Communicate and champion best practices, including supporting C&M teams on the practical implementation of guardrails, both in service of the creative outcome and Snap’s compliance of legal obligations.

  • Act as liaison between C&M teams and multiple Legal teams on production legal, privacy, copyright/trademark, music and rights/clearance matters through the lifecycle of a project (including digital production, photoshoots, animation, partnerships and non-creative work).

  • Review creative materials and advise stakeholders on talent, copyright and intellectual property considerations/ solutions.

  • Draft, review, structure and negotiate/manage deal points for talent contracts (including celebrity and influencer agreements) and music licensing agreements.

  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate with xfn stakeholders to identify areas of improvement, create efficiencies, and provide creative solutions to ensure and enable best-in class Content Production.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in driving risk escalations and ensuring executive-level sign off on risk assessments.

  • Effective in communicating, implementing, and championing best practices.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex work streams.

  • Proven ability to drive process improvement efforts to scale Business Affairs workflows/ processes.

  • Proven track record of providing solutions to creative concepts that satisfy legal guardrails.

  • Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, and internal business teams.

  • Strong understanding of legal concepts as related to contract negotiations for marketing.

  • Strong understanding of creative risk consult best practices, and partnering with a creatively-driven team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working in a legal, procurement, sourcing, and/or business affairs role.

  • Experience with Data and Privacy regulations and compliance management (CCPA, EMEA/GDPR etc).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with marketing and/ or advertising teams partnering to ensure regulation and process requirements are implemented.

  • Proven ability to drive positive change and build strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience with social networking, platform integrations, publishing platforms, broadcast & new media.

  • Understanding of Union requirements, agreements, and negotiations

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this position is $114,000-$171,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $97,000-$145,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
