As a Technical Writer, Research Intern at Snap Research, you will support the organization’s communication strategies by coordinating internal and external activities related to research programs. Your work includes creating and disseminating research findings and initiatives through various channels such as publications, websites, newsletters, and social media. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in technology, research, and communications, while contributing to an innovative team.

What you’ll do:

  • Invent new ways to convey complex information to a technical audience

  • Work with communications, product, engineering and marketing to generate content for a wide audience

  • Social Media Management: Develop and create engaging content and graphics for research-related social media channels to broaden our online presence.

  • Event Support: Organize and support virtual meetings and research events, including coordinating logistics and providing communication materials.

  • Internal Communications: Write web and email content for the company intranet to keep staff informed and engaged with ongoing research projects.

  • Copy Editing: Review and edit web pages and publication release pages to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in all written communications.

  • Build a Strong Online Presence: Increase the organization's visibility by creating engaging content for social media channels, including LinkedIn, and others.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to learn and understand technical material, grasp the essential parts of novel research work suitable for an external audience, and package them into engaging content.

  • Familiar with technical concepts like software engineering, and research in AI

  • Familiar with basic graphics design software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and similar software.

  • Self-directed and curious writer who works well with a variety of technologies and teams

  • Excellent operational, organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teammates

  • Excellent writing and comprehension skills with English vocabulary, spelling and grammar

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree, from an accredited college or university in the field of Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or other related field

  • Graduation date between December 2024 - Spring 2025

  • Experience with graphic design programs (such as InDesign, Canva, Photoshop, etc.)

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC), Zone B & Zone C: $25.00 Per hour
